The Gianni Doglia vineyard has been producing wines in Castagnole delle Lanze (Asti - Piedmont) for over 3 generations. Gianni, an oenologist and profound connoisseur of the territory, aided by the experience of his parents and assisted by his sister Paola, is directly responsible for cultivating the ten hectares of vineyards, which produce approximately 85,000 kg of grapes each year.
The decision to remain a small family-run business allows the company to devote special attention to the entire production chain, managing to best express the essence of a unique territory, vacated cradle of oenological excellence and Unesco World Heritage Site. In 1947 Eugenio Rivella, known as Genio, after working a few years as a sharecropper on a farmstead in his hometown of Castagnole delle Lanze in Frazione Annunziata, decided to buy it in order to make his dream come true: to make wine from grapes from his own land.
The grandfather was always assisted and supported by his youngest daughter, Marisa: enterprising, stubborn, multifaceted, optimistic, mother Marisa was grandfathers right-hand man and still represents, thanks to her experience, the soul of the winery.
In the 1980s the management of the winery was entrusted to her son-in-law Bruno, who together with his wife Marisa, has continued the family business with renewed enthusiasm: attentive and precise, for him making wine is like building a precision watch; From the vineyard to the cellar, nothing must be left to chance, because wine is constantly evolving and even a small mistake can ruin an entire years work.
Gianni Doglia, son of Marisa and Bruno, after the cycle of specialised studies and some significant professional experience, began in the year 2000 to deal directly with the continuation of the path of the ecological history of the Doglia house.
