Tenuta Garetto was acquired by the Gagliardo family, producers of Barolo for 6 generations, in 2016 and consists of a single plot of around 10 hectares on the hill overlooking the winery.
The vineyards, mainly planted in Barbera, date from the 1930s and 1950's and have an ideal southwest exposure. The Gagliardo family immediately began parcelling out the estate, allowing them to concentrate on numerous microvinification in order to be able to express the fullness of Agliano's powerful character in their wines.
The wines produced are: Nizza DOCG, Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG, a small amount of Grignolino DOC and a Moscato dAsti DOCG produced from vintage vines selected to complete the range.
