The Vietti cellar, located in the heart of the Langhe, at the top of the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, was founded at the end of the 19th century by Carlo Vietti. The properties of the vineyard have progressively developed over time and now count a wealth of terror of absolute value in the district of Barolo.
Although wine producers for 4 generations, the turning point came in the 1960s, when Luciana Vietti married Alfredo Currado, an oenologist and art connoisseur who, thanks to his intuitions, starting with the production of one of the first Barolo crush (Rocche di Castiglione - 1961), passing through the verification in purity of Arneis (1967), to the invention of Etichette dAutore (1974), became a symbol and architect of some of the most significant revolutions of the time. The intellectual, professional and prospective legacy has been ideally taken up by Luca Currado Vietti (Luciana and Alfredos son) and his wife Elena who, through the continuation on the road of quality, reasoned experimentation and a great work of expansion and consolidation at the international level, have contributed to the affirmation of the Vietti brand, today universally recognized among the best signatures of made in Italy oenology.
In 2016 the historic winemaking house was acquired by Krause Holdings, allowing Elena and Luca, still at the helm of Vietti, to enrich the companys heritage with a number of fine crush and thus be able to look to the future with new and exciting prospects, all while maintaining the family approach and imprinting that has always distinguished it.
