What we promote isn’t just a winemaking area – it’s a community where history, tradition, and identity come together and find expression in the wine.

Nizza DOCG is the story of a landscape shaped over centuries by human work – where the vine has always played a central role, helping define the identity of this region, both culturally and socially.

The production zone includes 18 municipalities: Agliano Terme, Belveglio, Bruno, Calamandrana, Castel Boglione, Castelnuovo Belbo, Castelnuovo Calcea, Castel Rocchero, Cortiglione, Incisa Scapaccino, Moasca, Mombaruzzo, Mombercelli, Nizza Monferrato, Rocchetta Palafea, San Marzano Oliveto, Vaglio Serra, and Vinchio.

This is where Barbera reaches its most refined and long-lived expression – the result of a unique balance between climate, soil, and skilled hands.

A living landscape

From the nature trails of the Val Sarmassa Nature Reserve to the sweeping views from Monte Dagno – the highest point in the area at 504 metres above sea level – the Monferrato Astigiano is a varied and vibrant territory, rich in culture and life.

The 18 municipalities of Nizza DOCG are home to stories, traditions, and cultural and architectural treasures: from the medieval castles of Bruno and Castel Rocchero to the Civic Museum of Modern Art in Mombercelli, and the literary trails of Vinchio dedicated to writer Davide Lajolo. Picturesque villages, ancient monasteries, Romanesque churches, and historic festivals make this a land to discover slowly – one glass of wine, one walk through the vineyards at a time.
