Cascina Perfumo was established in 1953, when Aldo Perfumo acquired a small estate perched on a hill above the Belbo Valley in Nizza Monferrato. Originally just 1.5 hectares of Barbera vines, the farm also included a stable and fields where the prized Cardo Gobbo was grown. By the late 1970s, under the guidance of Luigi and his wife Pieranna, the vineyard area had expanded to 7 hectares, almost entirely planted to Barbera, and new cellar facilities were built. Today, Marco, Roberto, and Simone carry on the family tradition – a true way of life – with 20 hectares of vineyards in a single estate, mostly within the prestigious Villalta Cru between Nizza Monferrato and Calamandrana.
